Challenge : A B2B customer in the same industry was worth thousands of dollars. Both customer groups (B2C and B2B) used the same search terms to find their respective products, thus, Adwords was not going to be a profitable endeavor.
Solution: Besides normal SEO blocking and tackling (and some conversion optimization) we created a content strategy that focused on questions that only the B2C market would ask. Following Google’s content guidelines, we wrote 15, super informative articles that provided in-depth, expert responses to each question.
Results: As you can see below, we started in October with 321 organic visits. In December 2012, we had 696 visits (traffic doubled, but still not a lot volume). Traffic Tripled in January to 1,818. We kept climbing and finally hit 10K visits 10-months later in August. There was a seasonal dip in Nov/Dec 2013, but in Jan 2014, we topped 14K monthly visits. Not surprisingly, the company’s revenues have increased enormously.
