Facebook is going to have a $100 Billion IPO. The main reason is their ad revenue. Facebook is #4 in traffic but #1 in ad revenue. Why?

1) Their platform has enormous reach – 800 million users is more than 1 out of every 10 humans

2) Amazing targeting capabilities – If you’re looking for 34 year old women in Beverly Hills who likes peanut M&M’s and vodka you can target that lady.

3) Perpetual marketing. Once you get someone to “like” your business, you have the opportunity to re-market to them via their news feed. That person then becomes an advocate: either by directly sharing your content that they like with their friends or indirectly through the FB ticker and things like social ads.

The proof is in the data. Facebook would not account for 1/6 of all display ad revenue and 28% of the ads seen online if it were not an effective platform.

That said Facebook ads are not for everybody. For example, it doesn’t do well with many B2B verticals. And it still doesn’t do well as an ecommerce platform because many consumers don’t trust it enough to share their credit card info. We’ll be posting some data on this shortly (stay tuned).

Social Media Branding: How it Works. Cool infograph. Facebook vs. Twitter? Discover what's more effective for your company. Find out what type of content consumer prefer and more

Social Media Branding: How it Works. Lots of thought generating stuff on the infograph below. A few things that stuck out for me:

1) No Surprise that consumers like coupons and discounts

2) The virtual persona’s are good things to think about

3) Friendly reminder to not forget email. People love to talk about social media, but effectively utilizing email can have significant results. As you can see it’s still a viable and customers are receptive to it,
